Hi.  I bought two used RUUD cages when my boys needed to live in separate pairs.  As soon as they had a bigger cage, they all got along!  These are powder coated (better than galvanized steel for easier cleaning and odor removal)

We live in Carpentersville, IL.

If interested, please IM me or post here.  Email is out of control with spam at the moment and I sometimes miss messages.

I'd describe the condition as very good to good.  For example, the "wrap wires" to assemble don't look new and the bottom plastic tray has minor scatches from being scrubbed with a brush.  Otherwise, I think you'll be pleased.

Update: the price was reduced after some minor damage last week.

Are you willing to break it down and ship it?

I'd like to limit this to local pickup or local delivery.  (It takes hours to assemble the cage).  If local delivery is selected, I'd charge $1 per mile round trip.

Welp, I wanted to update this.  I took both my RUUD's outside for a good scrub down.

While leaving them out to dry -- along comes strong winds.

Each cage got some minor damage -- but you'd be free to pick which one you want.  One RUUD got a bent door.  The other got 4 of the "cube" shapes in the wires bent where the water bottle holder was.  It did scratch off the coating in that spot.

In another month or so, I'll be listing it on ebay to clear things out.

Let me know if you ever decide that you can ship it. I can fix the minor damage, but I honestly need a larger cage with small bar spacing. Most of ours are Super pet, mostly because it is the easiest to get in the area and very common. And 1in bar spacing just isn't a good thing when you have smaller rats that can get through, but only 1 cage that'll work for them. Soon our boys will outgrow what they are in and need what the girls are in, but the girls may not yet be big enough for a SP  Shocked

I'd rather not resort to wire mesh.. Too many cuts on me and possibly the ratties!

Gees it won't fit in an SUV? Yeesh, that's scary lol If I could go up and get it I would. Assembly is always worth it once you've got it finished and get to see the ratties checking it out.

You wouldn't happen to be coming towards KY any time soon would you? lol

If you have an SUV, it could be tied down on the top rails.  It isn't heavy -- just bulky.

We do make occasional trips to Indianapolis to see my brother and could bring the cage along.

I'm really sorry that disassembly would be a LARGE task -- and just can't bring myself to doing it.

Well, this might sound odd, but is there any way of doing 'cage transport'? lol Line people up to pick it up from one another and so on and so forth. Obviously it would be limited because of the sheer size of the cage. I am about 8 hours drive from you and I only get one day off a week, so there's no way we could really drive up and back reasonably.

If no one else is vying for this cage, perhaps we could do that? Of course, by the time we did that if I payed towards travel expenses it'd probably cost me as much as a regular RUUD  Yellow Cute Laugh It's worth a try  Blue Dumbo Big Eyes

But if someone's closer and it'd be more convenient, then they get first dibs Smiley

Yes, the black one is the RUUD for sale.  Here is a bit more info....

•   The Ruud Cage (R-699).
•
30" x 18" x 60"
Seven levels
Six ramps
Four balconies
Two full floors
Three doors
One full solid bottom floor (pan is bottom floor of cage)
Drop-in 3½" deep black plastic pan
Powder coated

Save BIG:  New with shipping is $218 to Illinois

You can view this cage online at:
http://www.martinscages.com/products/cages/rat/

This is the ultimate rat spoiler.  The wire spacing is designed for both baby and adult rats to not squeeze through and prevent injuries.  I've owned 5 different cages for our pet rats.  By far, this has been their favorite for a number of reasons.  I think they like both the wide floors, slope of the ramps, and great ease of getting around.  Several other cages, they only used the top of the cage.  Cage calculators say it can hold 9-12 rats.  We use it for 3 and **LOVE** it.

We have two cages and only need one.  You can choose which one you want of the two.  The cages will come assembled with the special Martin's assembly tool and extra ties if you wish to reconfigure the cage.  Each cage is used and has minor damage.  One has a couple bent wires where a water bottle holder was when a wind blew it over.  The other has a bent door.  It is a little hard to photograph....

This will be either a pick up item at our house --OR-- can deliver with a charge of $1 per mile round trip.  Accessories pictured are not included.  It was just to show how much our boys enjoy their cage.  Cash accepted at time of pick-up.

Everyone, I accepted a deposit from a fellow ratty owner that lives in Arizona.  (Yes, I'm still in Illinois)  The deposit will be holding it until June.  A pick-up in April is planned when she has a road trip to Michigan planned and will be passing through.

Thank goodness this awesome cage won't be going to waste!  I'm sorry that I learned of your interest a little too late.  Holding 1 month instead of 5 would have been preferred!
