Apollo was very young, my first male rat that i loved very much. His death came very sudden. Over a course of 3 days his health went from being great to slowly wasting away. There is a whole story on him in the rat care guide. It went from broken legs, ( because his feet we soo badly swollen) to not having broken legs but some unknown illness that my vet had never seen before, to heart failure on the 4th of July. It happened so fast, i didn't know what to do with myself. I made the decison to put him to sleep, it was my last gift to him. He was a fighter but his heart couldn't take it.  He just wanted to be with me all night and when it came time he rest his head on me as if to say, " its time".

I'm so sorry, especially that you had to lose another so soon after Shadow.  You did what was best for him, and he's lucky to have had you.
