Super PetŪ Deluxe My First Home Cage for Exotics
Link: http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2753352

My friend has one of these and loves it, and it's just within my budget range, but I just want to make sure it's the right one Smiley
Also, how many rats could live comfortably in it? Thanks!

I've got one of those but it is without the wheel's version.
Very hard to clean and you can barely add nothing in  Roll Eyes
&& I think I would only have 2 in at the most .
It is just crampy .

The cage calculator says 4 rats. It does look nice, but if you have chewers...those shevles could get eaten. Also, if it comes with that wheel, you shouldn't use it because it can harm their feet and their legs can get stuck between the bars. You should get a wheel with a solid floor.

My rats aren't big chewers, and I have plenty of material lying around I could re-enforce the bottom with, so that's not a problem. I think I'll probably go with this one (and it can't be much harder to clean than the one I have now!)
It actually looks pretty big from what I've seen--my friend has two rats and they loll around in it quite happily, and I (well, due to my parents) don't plan to have more than 3 rats at a time... so if the CC says 4 rats I think that's OK.
Thanks for the advice Cheesy

I have two of those cages and I love them. The bar spacing is great of babies and female rats. If you wipe the shelves down every day it won't be a problem to clean. Its not good for chewers however, but most of my rats are not chewers.
Here are pictures of mine all decorated:

Many people do use those wheels without incident.

The levels will get chewed.
I hate the super pet shelves with the "pee rivers" (the trough that runs around the edges of each shelf).

I had it and hated it. The shelves got super gross quite quickly, and were very hard to remove for cleaning, IMO. They are also very narrow, so it is not a great use of space. My girls chewed through all three ladders and the tabs on the base. I got rid of it and went with a FN, which I like a lot more.

Hmmmm, I have this cage, and I think it is great!  I also have an FN, but for a smaller (yet still quite roomy) cage, I think this SP Cage for Exotics is perfect.  Honestly, wiping down the levels and keeping the cage clean in general is not very hard, and there is plenty of room for hammocks and other accessories!
