replacement shelves?
«

i have an SP exotic and so far wiping down the shelves hasn't been a really big deal. i do it once or twice a day, usually before i go to bed. i just recently moved the cage back into my bedroom so they could be with me more instead of out in the gameroom where i would actually forget about them sometimes x:
anyway, my mum has been complaining my room smells like rat to the point where she will get ill (honestly nobody else smells it but my parents idk what their deal is lol) and i feel that the shelves may be adding to their already pretty bad myco issues.
so i want to replace the shelves. i've already tossed the ladders and replaced them with ropes and other things to get about, but the shelves are still there collecting pee and food and whatever. i feel if anything that got on them were passing through wire to the litter it wouldn't smell so bad. the only thing is, the only wire shelves i can find are the little corner ones they sell at petsmart and those are too small and really difficult to get in my cage, and require to be twist-tied to the bars to keep from sliding around. i have a bale of chicken wire in the garage that i could snip up and cover with fabric or something but really i'd prefer to buy shelves i didn't have to cover.
you guys know of any place i could find small meshes shelves that would be big enough for my ratties to play on? or would just using the chicken wire be a better idea? would it even help?
thanks n___n
