About two years ago i got my first set of ratters, Sprite and Gnome. They were my first ratties. At first i only had Sprite, but read on this forum that rats need other rats to be happy, so i got Gnome, his twin 2 days later. They grew fast and were soon at 1.3 lbs each. They were soooo adoreable and loveable, they'd lay in their hammocks on their backs with their fat little Buddha bellies hanging out after a long session of play. They were the biggest attention hogs ever, i used to call them the prison ratties because if i didn't give them attention as soon as i got in my room they'd stick their little arms out of the cage to try to grab at my shirt if i got close enough (i soon learned to not get too close after a few times trying to wrestle my shirt from a 2 lb rat!!)They looked like prisoners from old movies when they did this

Unfortunately after just a year with my boys a tragedy occurred. One day while i was staying at a friends my mom put the boys' cage on the front deck to let them have some outside fun, well she went inside for a few minutes and was cleaning, when she heard a huge crash and scuffling. By the time she got outside my baby's were already gone. What had happened was my rottweiler bad broken onto the porch (through the metal gate) to get to the boys, and of course the boys were too gentle to put up a fight so Jake killed them. mom got out just in time to try to pull gnome out of his mouth, but it was too late. She told me there was blood everywhere but she tried to clean most of it up before i got home.....
I was heartbroken. I miss them soooooooo much.
I was at petsway the other day and thought what the heck, why not just look at the baby rats...... well one thing led to another and now i have my 2 new twin baby girls, Milla and Pinx. Milla is very outgoing, whereas Pinx is more shy and timid. Also Pinx only has 3 feet! She was attacked by a larger rat at the petstore and lost her foot, so they were just gonna feed her to the snake... So now i have them BOTH. I just bought their new martin rat cabin but i cant move them in till they are bigger, right now they only weigh a few ounces together, they are so small!!
I'm already in love!!!!
