My step father has a rescue African Grey. She is young (like around 5 or 6) and really healthy.

Right now she is on a seed mix, which I know is bad, so we are going to switch her diet to something more healthy. I have heard that Harrisons organic bird food is great for them, but unfourtunately none of the local vets around here carry it (and you can only get it through a vet)

Does anyone have any suggestions for high quality foods for her?

I highly recommend Harrisons pelleted diet... as does my vet Smiley

You actually can order their food from their website directly: order direct

But it's a little cheaper here: PhydeauxPets.com

Roudybush is another good brand; it's not organic, and they use preservatives... but if you have to go for something that costs less, this is the one to get. They have a low-fat formula, too.

Two wings up for Harrisons!!  And BlueMoon - excellent link for cheaper pellets!!!  I plan on getting my next batch of Lifetime Fine for Ozzie there.

Aja - I've heard many greys love the pepper lifetime coarse.  First things first, your stepfather should get the grey to a vet.  they can tell you the best way to convert from nasty seed only to healthy pellets without shocking the birds system.
