I'm down to two rats right now and it's just getting to be too much for me to handle anymore. Over the past few years of being ratty I think I need a break. My husbands allergies are so severe and his Dr insists that we get rid of our rats. We're tried to rehome them before but nobody was interested in them at all. I think I'm making the right choice, for the rats. They need to be in a better home where they can get the attention they deserve and crave, a proper cage set up that has toys and all that ratty jazz, they need proper vet care which I cannot provide for them anymore. They never get held anymore, I only see them once a day when we do fresh food/water and they are dying for more attention. We never hold them or take them out because like rats, they pee everywhere, and my husband absolutely goes insane over it. I hate to do this because I do love them so much but I need to think of THEM instead of ME, and in the best interest of THEM I think I'm making the right choice in rehoming them. What do you all think? I made a post in the adoption center already so we'll see in time.

I'm sorry that you're having to go through this, but definitely go with your gut. Only you know what you can handle, and what the right thing to do is. Best of luck to you.
