I have two 5 month old girls and I was wondering if I'm feeding enough fruit and veg. I give them enough to eat in one sitting (about 10 grams) between the two of them, as well as 1/4 cup of dry mix to last 24 hours(Suebee's and dog kibble until I can get lab blocks.) They're both full of energy with soft, shiny coats.
Is this enough between the two of them? I've read that they're supposed to be fed on a ratio of 80% dry, 20% fresh, but I've also read in the forum what other people feed their rats and I'm getting a bit confused. Everyone else seems to be feeding a lot more fresh than I do. Is it just my rats or am I not feeding enough? Any opinions welcome! Please help!!

It sounds like you're doing fine.  Smiley  The best indicator of whether you're feeding enough is if they start losing weight, or if you're feeding too much then they start getting fat.

It sounds like a good diet. I know that as a rule of thumb most people suggest at least a tablespoon of veggies/fruits per rat, per day.

Really???  I give my girls like a cup of fresh veggies a day!  Divided into 2 meals.  They are tiny babies, about 6 weeks old.  Am I overdoing it?

For tiny babies, a cup split into two meals sounds like it might be a little bit too much.
