Pick the adoption option!

I recently found a great little bulk foods store close to my house that has lots of goodies I can throw in my rats' mix, including a few varieties of soy nuts.  My question is - does it matter whether they're roasted or not?  They have both kinds (unsalted, yay!), so I'm not sure what to get.

Thank you!

I don't have unsalted at my grocery store :-( I have to look around to other stores to see if they have the things I need for my own mix...of corse it wouldn't convieniently be in my regualr store.

Get the roasted soy nuts. The "unroasted" kind are just soy beans, which I have heard aren't very good for eating. If you buy the unroasted kind, you can roast them at home, just need to look up a recipe.

Personally, I find home roasting a pain, but that's just me. Wink

Home roasting isn't so bad, its just a little time consuming. You soak them in water for twelve hours, spray a big cookie sheet with Pam(Pam olive oil is healthier), and spread them on it as evenly as you can. Bake for an hour to an hour fifteen at 350, stirring them around every 15 minutes so they all get the heat.

We're lucky, our local produce store carries roasted most of the time, but when I go to the Grocery store, they just carry them raw.
