Now that autumn has arrived, it is time to introduce you to the Brothers Three so that you can FALL in love!

Lou, Benni and Sam have been in a wonderful foster home in Auburn, Maine since the end of June.  Now reaching the autumn of their lives, they recently lost their "brother" Leo thus the Brothers Four are now the Brothers Three.  Cry

These boys are well loved in their foster home, but it is time they found their forever family.

Benni, the Himilayan and Lou, the black capped were both born in December 2006.

Foster Mom says Benni is outgoing, loveable and people oriented.  He loves to give kisses and come out of the cage for short shoulder rides.  Likes to sit at the computer and help send emails.  Is a sweet-a-holic!

Lou is the quiet, reserved type.  Slow to come out of the cage, but happy and curious once he is out.  However, he can move very quickly when a plate full of dinner is offered.  He is a bit on the chubby side and likes to hoard food!

Sam is the black Berskshire, born in May, 2007.  This shy boy has come a long way since his arrival in his foster home.  He now comes out of the cage eager for shoulder and hoodie rides and loves nothing more than chilling out in the recliner to watch movies with you!

If the idea of trio of bonded neutered older boys sounds appealing to you, please take a second look at these wonderful guys.  We believe a quiet home with no small children would be the best fit for them.  The adoption fees will be waived for the right family though we would ask for a donation of your choice to help offset our out-of-pocket costs for the neuter surgeries.  (Donations can include gas cards, bedding, pet supply gift cards, services or money.)

Remember transport arrangements throughout New England can usually be made.  Adoption inquiries should be sent to Kim at adopt@mainelyratrescue.org.

If anyone is interested in the Three Brothers, I am driving from Maine to Keene, NH next Saturday the 4th.  Could make a stop in Portsmouth on the way or plan to meet someone in Keene in the afternoon.  Of course, we would need an approved application on file  Smiley

Please take a second look at these handsome older gentlemen.  All are neutered.  They need a new foster or adoptive home by the end of November.

I will be in Portsmouth, NH on Sunday, October 12th if anyone near there is interested!!

Remember, transportation can usually be arranged throughout New England!!

UPDATE FROM THE FO MOM:   "They have all come such a long way! They now readily jump out of their cage at us and will climb all around in their new room. We have this lid to a cooler that has cup holders in it. We will hide the lid on shelves/around and put little treats in the cups to see if they can find it, Sam has amazed us with his agility and ability to sniff it out. He will almost always jump right up to where ever it is.

Benni is his usual gentle self - I've been making lots of little hammocks which he loves. He is sooooo mellow, but I think he misses being out where we see him all the time as he loves attention.

Lou remains a bit on the shy side. He will eventually come out on his own, and is very comfortable with us and his brothers. He is still a bit overzealous when taking treats and about fingers - we haven't had any bites, but also don't fully trust him. He is still a very loving and silly rat though. He bruxes at us frequently from the cage - especially if he see's the others getting treats when outside the cage, because he wants one, but doesn't want to have to come down to get it!

Anyway they are getting better each day - they are completely sweet since their neuter no fighting or bites and have been very out going guys!"

The MRR gang will be Waltham, MASS. this Friday, October 24th if anyone is interested in the Brothers Three!    Cheeky  Contact Robin at mrr.robin@gmail.com for more information.

They are very hansome.
I recently lost my last nuetered male Rocco at the end of august. I have 3 females now and i've been thinking about adopting another male but I didn't want to pay $300 for a nueter.
I really miss having males around though, thier so laid back and my very first rats were blue brothers.
I live in Philadelphia, so i'm not sure if you could transport that far. Could you let me know if this is possible?
I'd also have to double check with my boyfriend, but they are sooo cute and nuetered too. I think my girls miss having thier rat men to cuddle with.

I am sorry, that is just too far to transport these boys.  They are being fostered in Maine.

I am sorry for the loss of your Rocco.

There may be a rescue in your area with neutered boys.  Have you tried Kim's Ark?  Or a local shelter?

The ladies do love their big neutered squishy boys. Ratty Smiley  Good luck!

Oh. For some reason i thought kims ark was pretty far, Don't know what i was thinking haha. But thank you for the info. I'll have to check it out.

I haven't been to my local shelter because its not in a very good neighborhood and i don't feel safe taking the bus there.

Let me guess, the one on Erie Ave? I grew up outside of Philly, and I'd always see their ads pleading for people to visit and look at their animals. It really sucks, because I know the city has an overwhelming pet overpopulation problem, but the area the shelter's in prevents people from coming to adopt from them just because it's not safe. Everyone loses.

Kim's Ark is actually closer to you than MRR, so you should definitely check them out. Even if they don't have what you're looking for, I've seen quite a few people near Philly posting rats for private adoption on this board here.

Yup thats the one. I grew up a few blocks from there but moved out before it got really bad. It really does suck! I had a friend who went that way one day to visit her aunt and she got stuck up, she was sent to the hospital b/c the guy hit her with his gun.

I will check out kims though.

I have the option of having these boys come live with me when the foster mom cant take them with her.....I am going to tell you what folks, if they come here...."yeh aint gettin em back"   I love my foster kids....these are sweeeet boys.  If you think you want to adopt, do it, give these boys a home.  I adore the older rats..they might not be with you as long as babies, but I will tell  you what...they are suuuuuuuch sweeet rats, and worth the time.   I have taken the older rats for MRR and have been totally heart broken when no one wants them, and I am the one that either has them die, or be PTS because people cant "bare to have another pet die"

These boys need a loving home.....pleeeeeeeease someone adopt them, let them call their last place a HOME

We are thrilled to say that these sweet older gentlemen have found their forever family with a wonderful woman from Maine.  It the best home we could have asked for as they will be the only ratties in their home and will have all of the love and attention they so well deserve!

We could not be happier that these boys are finally, truly HOME where they belong.   Smiley
