TEK Bat On A Sticky Wicket ( Black Hooded/Spotted Rex DownUnder) is in her last days (or it could even be hours!) of pregnancy!  She is *quite* big!  As you can see from these photos, she unintentionally was making some sort of shadow monster in the first photo!  The sire of the litter is TEK Lummox- a Havana Cinnamon Hooded.  Keep your fingers crossed for a smooth delivery and quite a few DU bellies!  Guesses on numbers of pups are always welcome, of course!

I guess I had a psychic intuition to catch Bat's big baby belly while it lasted!  When I went into the rat room at 9 to check on everyone there was one VERY chubby pink bub. Now at 9:34, we have 2 more!  So who knows what the next few hours will bring!  So far everyone looks extremely pink (as far as I can see from outside the cage) and like I said, very chubby!  I'll update again later!

Since it's the first official day of Fall, I'm thinking the naming theme will be Autumnal.

I couldn't be happier - and I mean that!  Not only did Bat do wonderfully and present me with 7 super chubby, healthy, pink pups - she also had a surprise in store for me!  OK, while it isn't a total surprise - a baby Manx is always an amazement.  I find myself doing a double take each time I end up with one of these characters in a litter!  It looks like this little guy is a ...guy (but it is hard to tell without the tail as a guide.  However I'm pretty sure in this case!).  On to the important part - Photos!

That is so cool!  I know a lot of people who would love to have a rat without a tail Yellow Cute Laugh   How far are you from CT?

Just out of curiousity.  Maybe I would get put on a waiting list for future litters.

Julie,
I'm about 3 hours or so from CT.  However, depending on the time of year I'm often visiting CT, as my family is all in New Haven.  My mother is used to having Rat folks drop in to come pick their pups up.

Julie,
If you're interested in pups, feel free to go to my website and fill out the application.  I love adopting to goosemoosers - I get to see photos!  At this point it's very hard to determine how long the wait would be, but your best bet is to get on my radar!

Congratulations, Dan and Bat! On the autumnal theme, maybe you could name them with the names of trees that are gorgeous in the fall. My favorite would be Sugar Maple!

And I'm not surprised you have a hamsterbutt in the group - they turn up "relatively" frequently in your litters!  Wink

I just did a Summer Solstice theme. Only fitting for you to do an Autumn theme! Congratulations on the lucky seven. They are FAT bubs. That one sticking out from the milk bar tummy-up looks like he could be an unpigmented 3-4 day old. Not a newborn!
