Hiya

My rat Jagger has started hiding under my wardrobe every time he's been out for about 20 minutes.

I totally understand that he is probably just nesting under there, but the problem is that if I need to get him out it gets rather tricksy! When he first started I was able to coax him out with treats, but he's now got too wise to come out too far and also I don't want to be effectively treating him and therefore reinforcing the behaviour. The thing is I can't physically grab him out without moving the heavy wardrobe, and I'm always so scared that I might trap some part of him by mistake when I do.

So basically the question I've got is whether anyone has good tips for coaxing a rat from under/behind something. Or alternatively, what would be the best way to block up the 3" gap between the wardrobe and the wall (because anything I'v tried he seems to get over/remove!)

Thanks  Smiley

Stack some bricks between the wall and wardrobe, perhaps?

I use big piece of cardboard boxes to block of areas that my lil ones are no suppose to go in. I have invested in a martins playpen witch has been the greatest thing ever. good luck

I used thin sheets of wood on the inside to to block the way and bricks shoved up against them to hold them in place even against the most determined ratties Smiley  I regained MY dresser with this method  Yellow Cute Laugh
