Merlin- 20mo? (petworld)my baby! he's showing his age a bit but still going strong!
Morgain-12mo?- (drop off)
Machiatto-8mo?(pet world)
Echo-18mo?(rescue)
Shout-18mo?
Pongo- 8 weeks(rescue)unknown cause
Lucky-6mo-18mo?(rescue) no way to determin his age but he's got a slight eye infection and is underweight but he's got a vet visit for tomorrow and is slowly gaining weight now!
10 babies-two weeks old(echo's kids)
Swirly-three days -somehow squished by the mom when they were three days old. since there's nowhere to burry ratties around her i asked my boyfriend to do it at his work, instead he flushed the poor little thing (and slept on the couch for a week cause of it)

Here are the ages for the rats I have lost:

Kumquat  28 months (m)
Pickle 26 months (m)
Brie  12 months (f) - very sudden, still don't know what happened

I still have -
Raisin 30 months and counting (m)
D'mue 18 months and counting (f)

ANd there's Smudge, but I just adopted her and no one knows how old she is!

I do know someone who has an honest to god 5 years plus rat named Mortimer- has the store receipt to prove it.

My rat lifespans (not counting one who died a week after I got her from the pet store):

Claire 10 mos. (Dec. 1996-Sept. 1997)
Laura 18 mos. (Jan. 2000- July 2001)
Joan 30 mos. (Jan. 2000- July 2002)

First two died from unknown natural causes; Joan died from a bad fall.

Weird fact: Both Laura and Joan died within a few days of Tisha'b'Av (fairly obscure Jewish holiday of mourning and fasting, when observant Jews remember misc. Jewish tragedies throughout the centuries).  (Even more weird coincidence: this pattern of death dates only occurred after I became observant enough to do something about Tisha'b'Av).    (Twilight zone music plays ominously in background).

Blue - 14.5 months (April 2002 - 29 July 2003, cancer throughout body (including in her uterus, which was when we realized the previous "mammary" tumor with a thin membrane must have been cancer)
