I'm so sorry to hear of your losses. I wanted to look at the pictures but I'm not able to. But I love the names you chose, and knew immediately where you got the names.

Mrs. Ratty here,                                                                                                                  1/8/2019

You've probably read about Ollie's problems in the Rat Care Corner.  He went home to play at the bridge around October 26, the Friday before Halloween. (Mr. Ratty said it was summer, but it probably feels that long ago because Ollie's problems started in the summer.)  Finn was having what sounded like respiratory problems; the vet gave him a shot of B12 in December in hopes that would clear it up, but on January 7, Mr. Ratty found him dead in the cage he shared with Stanley, our remaining boy.  We're not sure what happened, but it appears he collapsed just as he was emerging from the tunnel.  Now Finn joins Ollie at the bridge.  Incidentally, the boys were named for the Roach boys of Comedy:  Oliver Hardy (Ollie), James Finlayson (Finn), and Stanley Laurel (Stan or Stanley). All three boys were over two years old; we received them from their previous pet parent Bridget when they were a little over a year old, in 2017. Mr. Ratty and I will continue to lavish attention on Stanley.  I've attached a trio of links to photos of all three boys.  Enjoy.

We live near Dayton, Ohio. Our best bet would be Rattie Tattie Rescue, unless we can find something closer.

So sorry for your loss  :puppy_dog_eyes:.  Play hard at the bridge Finn.
If you're located in New England or New York, Mainely Rat Rescue has a lot of rats of varying ages available for adoption so you might be able to get Stan some friends near his own age.  Or you could get a pair of younger rats that would have each other to play with and while still providing Stan with some companionship.

Here's Stan, by the way.

I don't know how this wound up in "Home Squeak Home". Could the moderator move it for me?

Home Squeak Home / R.I.P. Finn and question
« Last post by RattyRodent on January 07, 2019, 08:51:38 PM »
We lost Finn today, one of three rats we adopted a few years ago along with Stan and Ollie. Ollie passed away earlier this year. We were shocked to find that Finn had passed away tonight.

Now we have only Stan left. What really saddens me is that, despite being at least two years old, Stan is still very healthy and lively. We really hate the thought of him living alone, but we don't know what to do. Bringing in another rat could be a problem. We'd have to find one near Stan's age and that might be hard. Bringing in baby rats might be too much for him. Suggestions please.
