Rat Care Corner / Re: Talking In His Sleep?????

I'm always worried that odd breathing noises could be a respiratory issue, so I'd bring him to the vet.

Rat Care Corner / Talking In His Sleep?????

So Tobi has picked up a new habit. Occasionally, while he's sleeping, he "talks". It's a higher sound than what Zucchini makes when she's excited. Which is ironic seeing as Zucchini is my smallest rat and Tobi is the biggest. Today I had just gotten home and when I opened the bedroom door I heard the "talking". I was instantly worried, because it sounds like soft squeaking. I thought someone was in pain. Nope. Tobi was just curled up in a hide with Irish. Is this normal or something to worry about?  :help:

Those of you who remember the extremely photogenic rat, Marty Mouse, may know that his mother adopted three almost equally cute brothers a few years ago, after Marty died.  She is a professional photographer and has been documenting their adventures on a Web site called martymousehouse.com.  Wimbley died over a year ago of a pituitary tumor, Milo died earlier this year, and now Fibbs has died suddenly of old age, a couple of months short of his third birthday.  The conceit was that Fibbs ran for President of the United States as the nominee of the Donutcratic Party (slogan:  "Peace, Love, Doughnuts") and has been governing the country since the election.

I don't know why, exactly, but losing each of these boys has been like losing one of my own rats.  They were all adorable.  Each had a strong personality that came through in the photos; Fibbs in particular had a mischievous twinkle in his eyes.  Marty was a very persuasive rat ambassador in his time, and Milo, Wimbley, and Fibbs ably carried on the tradition.  The world is a poorer place without them.

Up to three trees are set up to help each of the rescues that have registered with The Travelin' Rat during 2017. These rescues deal with surrenders and hoarding situations and abuse cases all year long and we'd like to help bring some joy to them this holiday season!
If you would like to participate in this event, click on on a tree link under the rescue, then click on an ornament to see more info about one of the rescue's rats and a donation button. (Some rescues do not have rats available right now, so you may see other animals or rats that you can donate in memory of.) The rescues that have US 501(3)(3) status so can issue tax-deductible receipts are starred. ANY donation amount is appreciated!

*New this year: No set donation amounts!*

Hi! Did I hear my name?
I purchased the 10 lb. box of crinkled Kraft paper for $18.29. I ordered it online and had it sent to my nearest Staples location. They called when it arrived and I drove out to pick it up.
