Home Squeak Home / Silent Spinner Question
« Last post by ellybelly on October 13, 2017, 09:22:33 AM »
Hey guys!
I've been using a silent spinner for the last two years and it's great! My problem is very much user error -- I accidentally left the big yellow piece that attatches the cage out while I was the cleaning and my little ratty destroyed both blue rubber pieces. This is the second time this has happened and it's been a super expensive mistake

I just bought a new one last time bc I couldn't find any other options, but I'm in a tight spot and was wondering if anyone has found anyway to replace those little buggers.
    I would be so grateful!!!

Wow, they are very cute and love their names. I haven't been on Goosemoose in ages and miss seeing all those cute faces.  I'm going to have to visit more often.

Rat Tails & Mug Shots / Meet Zucchini and Rutabaga!!!
« Last post by MinervaThonosi on October 12, 2017, 06:53:55 PM »
I got to bring home two adorable little girls for school. I'm going to school to be a vet tech and these girls where used in the lab animal classes. At the end of every term some of the lab animals (rabbits, mice, and rats) go up for adoption. Originally Rutabaga was Ratabaga. I changed her name to Rutabaga, because I like the name more. I also switched their names, because I thought Zucchini fit the smaller girl better.

Zucchini is the girl with a gray head and Rutabaga is the girl with brown.

I've always used the large Silent Spinners, attaching them to the side of the cage instead of using the stand :)

OK, shortly after I moved out and rented a single room, two of my three female rats died after the trio was together for two and a half years. About two months later, little Sara is still with me, ans I give her all the attention I can (she's in my lap as I type this), but if it's possible to give her a decent home with other rats for the time she has left, I'd like that. Or maybe there's some old female rats around northeast Florida I can adopt. Can anyone help me?

I have a couple of large Wodent Wheel (Wobust size), and like them quite a bit.  They are quiet and come apart easily for cleaning.

I always liked Silent Spinners of the larger size.

I've never used a wheel but the Wodent Wheel and the Silent Runner seem to be the most popular (and also the most affordable). The size of the Chin Spin is nice but I'd be a little skeptical of a permanent cage fixture with wood components (when my boys aren't chewing, they're peeing).

I've also looked into the Stealth/Magnum and Velociraptor wheels. They're a bit more expensive. Also, they're apparently made from bucket lids and other stuff that you can get from the hardware store. The Stealth wheel people also offer the Freedom Wheel that looks interesting but I haven't seen any reviews on it yet.

I've also heard some good things about the Lenka Wheels (also not cheap and imported from Israel).
