do any of your rats have a certain food that they go to any legnths to eat and destroy? Cailean, my girl, has this pickle feddish. I offered the pickle I was eating to her, and she delicately started licking it. When I tried to pull it away, she got this wild look in her eyes and grabbed the pickled and started pulling chunks out of it. I finally got it away from her, and sat down in the computer chair across the room. She heard the crunching of the pickle while I was eating it, so she ran/hopped over as fast as she could, and has since then been savagely going after the pickle. She's even been tearing off pieces of paper towel that the pickle's wrapped in. Every now and then while I'm typing this message, I have to stop and wrestle Cailean off the pickle. There are big chunks missing, and many teeth marks, and they're not from me. Does anybody else's rat/rats do this to anything?

Cous Cous was toast-obsessed, she couldn't get enough toast. ;) Right now all of my bunch are cheese-fanatics, and they don't get it too often so there's always a fierce battle whenever cheese is introduced into the cage.

Only peas in the fishing pond. They can't get enough of those.

My rat Ellie lives to eat. She will come running from anywhere in the house for a yogurt treat. She also LOVES corn, but that has made her a little chunky so we have had to cut back. Sometimes if I'm on the couch eating something she will come and trying to pull down my lip and get food out of my mouth. :P

Chicken and Corn.  Peas also, but not as much.

Well, actually, we've learnt not to go near the rat room with any form of food, as doing so usually results in rats clinging to arms/legs/whatever in attempts to get to the food.   It's amazing how well they will cling to bare skin when they "need" food.   ;D

I'd definately have to say corn!
They've only had it a few times, due to the fact I know it's not that good for them....

But you should see the carryon when they get it on the cob! ::) ;D

Now THAT I believe! Whenever I give my rats corn kernels, they're just kinda, "Oh, well, okay." But if I give them corn on the COB, then STAND BACK 'cause NOTHING gets in the way of my rats and their corn on the cob. ::)

Mine like fish.  They love salmon, tilapia, albacore tuna, shrimp, whatever.  They FREAK over fish.  They like canned smoked oysters, too.

My guys adore fortune cookies. I don't even have the heart to eat mine since I know how much they look forward to getting them! All they have to hear is the crinkling of the plastic wrapper and they go crazy.

I don't think my girls go quite that nuts for anything, although they do go pretty crazy for soymilk or the occasional banana piece. Your Cailean has very good taste, though -- pickles are the best!
