Obviously I need a rescue name
« on: April 07, 2003, 02:00:38 AM »
I do rescue, very small scale, but I do it. Obviously I need a rescue name. I'm in Santa Cruz, Ca, and my name is (obviously) Anna.
No reason to use those things, just thoughts. What should I call it, thoughts needed!

How about:

"Anna's salvataggio del ratto"  (Italian - Anna's Rat Rescue)

Furry Friends Rat Rescue
R.A.T.S. (Rescuing All Things Small) Rescue
Second Chance Rat Rescue

OK, these are probably cheesy, but I tried . . . it's late . . . LOL

Do you just take in rats?
Or do you take in other animals as well?

Just rats I think.
I love other animals, but I can only care for one species of mammal.
Herps are welcome I guess too.

So, could it be something like, Anna's Rat and Herp Rescue?
Or would herps be a special circumstance thing?

Herps are totally a special circumstance thing. They need to REALLY need me, because the live a LONG time and require special care. Plus many rodent people would freak about me rescuing rats and snakes.

Good point.

I guess I'm boring. I can't really come up with anything other than Anna's Rat Rescue.
When I run one (small scale like yours) I know I'm going to call it Ruthie-chan's Rat Rescue.
I can't really think of anything else.

You could get cutsie. Anna's Rattie Rescue. Rascal Rats Rescue, or something like that.

How about 'Anna's Angels'? Or is that too obscure?

I kinda like the ones Zucca suggested.  My brain is fried, so I can't really come up with any of my own right now.

Hmmm...  Maybe you could use local "landmarks" in your area to get an idea?

If I wind up breeding, the names I chose were both decided upon by the "landscape" in Maine.

If I bred mice, it would be Blueberry Plains Mousery.  I got that from all the wild blueberry fields in Maine.  That, and the predominant color I'd be working with would be blue and blue based.

If I bred rats, it would be Oak Hill Rattery.  I didn't like Blueberry Plains for rats, it didn't sound right.  I wanted to keep a "natural" sounding name, and there is an Oak Hill up the road from here.

I dunno if it helps any or not, but there's my additional 2 cents.

We're in Santa Cruz. Maybe something about the bay, the coast, or the redwoods? I'm no good at this.

Yeah, that's why something personalized to Santa Cruz would be nice.

I thought there might be a chance that someone might have used one or two of those names already - but R.A.T.S. is used by someone - using the exact same phrasing I came up with?  Too strange.   :o

Well, I did come up with those on my own as I am not familiar with any rat rescues, and I am new to rats in general.  But regardless, I tried.   ::)  Good luck in your name search!

how about you combine them all together...

Anna's Second Chance Furry R.A.T.S. of Santa Cruz....

 :P

I'm no good at this either.  Is it just you, or you and a couple friends?  That might make the difference if you use your name or not.

RAT RASIN'S RESCUE!  OK, now I'm just in a silly mood.  It's been a loooong week and it's only Monday.  :P

Edited because I'm so tired I mispelled RASIN!

You still misspelled raisin...    :P

I think there's already a Raisin Rats, or something like that...  I'm not sure though.

Redwood (or Redwood Grove) Rat Rescue

Gnah, I suck at this.

Other thoughts...something about lighthouses (seems metaphorical) or the beach called Natural Bridges (sounds like an encounter group)
