Title: Isis 1996-01/08/15
Post by: Marybelle on January 08, 2015, 06:14:19 PM
Her majesty, Queen Isis, she of the loud demands and even louder purrs, has gone to find her Murphy. They were inseparable in life, so I suppose it shouldn't surprise me that she would want to follow him so soon into death. She came to us with the somewhat uninspired name of "Blackie". But one look at her wide golden eyes, and I knew she needed something regal and exotic. And she lived up to her name. She knew what she wanted, and wasn't afraid to let us know when we'd offended her. But she would soon forgive us, and let us back into her good graces, shown by demands for cuddles and copious purrs. She's been through her fair share of health issues, and today, after the most recent bout of issues, she let me know in no uncertain terms that she was done, and ready to see her Murphy again. At the vet, she purred, and a swear I heard it continue even after she was gone, letting me know that she had found him, and she was happy again. This will be a much quieter house without her, and my heart is broken yet again.

Im trying to hold back tears looking at that last pic. What a beautiful girl. She can finally rest easy with Murphy by her side again. Cats are magnificent creatures. Im sorry for both your losses.

Wonderful testimonial, Marybelle. So sorry. Purr away in the arms of Murphy again, little queen.

My Dad wrote her a poem.  :)

For My beloved Grand Cat:

She may have been a queen
flashing regal eyes
attitude of royal mein…

But when I flashed that laser light
a kitten emerged

I enjoyed the laughter
The antics that lady pulled
in her quest for that light

But alas the light went out on this side
The eyes got a distant look as if seeing a far shore
And she signaled
in her regal way
I must leave you now
Thank you for
taking me in
Thank you for allowing me to enjoy a regal life
Thank you
Thank you
Thank you…and it is OK, I am where i need to be.

Those were the words she spoke
But to mere human ears they sounded
like this: prrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

That is beautiful. A lovely poem for a lovely queen kitty.
I especially liked the "I am where I need to be" part. Your dad is a good poet.

Isis was such a beautiful girl, and her eyes were amazing.  I have always been in love with black cats.  I'm sorry for your loss, but Murphy needs Isis, too.
