Title: Prairie dog surgery (fun post surgery picture)
Post by: DragonTamer on October 12, 2015, 07:19:21 PM
Spud grew a nice large lump on the side of his face, that went from pea size to golf ball sized in a matter of 2 weeks.  He had it removed a couple weeks ago, and we were supposed to go in last week for stitches removal, but he removed them all himself, lol.

He's 6 years old now and doing wonderful still!

Everyone at the vet's office loved him, and I found out my vet does prairie dog surgery for the Baltimore zoo!  I was worried he wouldn't have experience with operating on them but thankfully that wasn't the case.

Poor little Spud! Glad he got it taken care of!
And how awesome your vet has experience with prairie dogs! (Well, not awesome for the prairie dogs before him, but you get what I mean. :) )

Pretty awesome! Where are some good places to get info on their care? I think they are really awesome and would love to have one some day but I know they require quite a commitment.
