CN.. Is this accurate?
« on: December 12, 2009, 02:36:06 PM »
Ok, I didn't want to hijack the photo thread for the Critter Nation but I am overly confused about those shelves now!

I read that they were sending out replacement shelves for the critter nation due to it being unsafe? Now, I bought my CN late last year, in either late November or early December. In fact, I could probably find the exact date in my previous posts if I looked back far enough because I was so excited.

So, I hear that there is possible safety issues with the older shelves, so I email them to see if I have those particular shelves or not.. This is the response I get back:

Thank you for contacting MIDWEST regarding the Critter Nation. The Critter Nation is a new product we started manufacturing the beginning of this year. We have not made any changes to the shelves of the Critter Nation. We had previously made changes to the Ferret Nation shelves, which are the same design as the Critter Nation. All Critter Nation cages have the new designed shelves. I hope this information has been helpful. If you have further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact customer service at 800-428-8560.

First, how was it manufactured the beginning of this year if I bought it LAST year? And it's the ferret nation shelves with issues? i thought it was the CN too? I do not want any broken limbs or stuck toenails because these shelves might be unsafe; I'm sure everyone can understand that!

So, is this reply to my email correct, or are they wrong?

To my knowledge, this was just an issue with the FN and only FN's made before a certain time. The FN's made later, as well as the CN's, do not have this issue with the shelves.

hmm, ok. I thought it was both the CN and FN's made before a certain period. Thanks!

FN's were made first, so by the time they started manufacturing CN's, they'd fixed the error.
