Feeding Raw (What about supplements?)

(1/1)

BionicKoi:
I really want to switch my cats over to the raw diet. But I have been reading recipes on line and everyone is suggesting supplements such as IU Vitamin E, salmon oil, etc.

Does everyone here add supplements to the meat as well or do you just feed raw? Also I have seen a pre mix called Bravo Raw and was considering that except I would have to drive over two hours to pick some up. There are no local stores that sell it.

Any info would help out immensely.

Scarlett Angel:
I just recently began switching my cat over to a raw diet.  She was eating a rotation of Solid Gold and Wellness and now I am slowly incorperating the raw.  I'm using Steve's Real Food raw diet and so far I'm pretty happy with it.  I have been giving her a cat multivitamin everyday since she was 4 months old tho, and I will continue to do so, so I think she's gonna be pretty much covered in the nutrition department.   Actually, some people probably think I overdo it with her, lol.  She gets her teeth brushed at least 4-5 times a week and I put on her harness and leash and take her jogging with me several times a week too!  I get some funny looks, but she's a pretty darn healthy cat and I aim to keep her that way  ;D

Tamara:
I feed a premade raw diet as well and have been adding salmon oil at least once a day.  Have also been considering adding taurine, vit B complex and vit E.  I've been very happy with the diet,  my cats seem satisfied and I have noticed an improvement in my one cat's coat in particular.  The only problem we are having is that they only want to eat chicken.

BionicKoi:
I did notice at the organic grocery store that they sell a powder that you add to the raw diet. I don't know if its complete or not, I didn't get a good chance to look it over.

We're driving down to pick up that raw diet this Friday. I will see how they take to it and go from there.

Also thank you two for the info! I'll have to research this further but the info you have given me has helped and will be used! I'll let you know how it goes!
