Diesal is an Akita mixed with probably Shepherd who's approximately 3 years old. He's a very well-behaved boy (he's currently living with a dog trainer) who's been very well socialized. He knows his basic commands (sit, sit-stay, down, down-stay, heel) and doesn't pull on while being walked. He's a quiet dog used to indoor life.

Diesal was rescued by his current owner, and he came to her with aggression issues and severe skin problems. He's since over both, but has some issues we don't believe he'll ever fully get over. He doesn't like children, for one. With adults he's a big happy lovey dovey boy, but he's apprehensive of children and really shouldn't be placed in a situation where he can't get away. He'll tolerate their presence, as long as they don't touch him or invade his space. He currently lives with 4 other dogs, but it's believed Diesal should go to a home where either he is the only dog, or with an older, quiet or submissive dog. He doesn't like high energy play, and he responds badly to a dog displaying dominant behaviour. It must be known that Diesal has snapped at children and has bitten another dog, one of the dogs he currently lives with (who tried to rough-house with him), and snapped at other dogs when he's "not in the mood".

Diesal's ideal home would be as an only dog in a home with no children. This boy truely has a wonderful personality, I've met him personally and adore this dog, but my child and 2 other dogs wouldn't make his situation any better. He's very affectionate, has lovely manners (if you don't mind the occasional sneaky slobbery kiss) and a lot to offer the right owner in the right situation.

Diesal is in the Ontario/Michigan area and his owner would prefer he go somewhere in this area, though for the right home other arrangments may be made. If you have any questions, email BonnieMcBride@gmail.com and if you like I can put you in touch with the owner.
