New bunny behaviors
« on: January 25, 2006, 02:11:03 AM »
Well my rabbit has its own play space that she can run around in and theres a sliding door that i can open if i want to go inside. I dont let her go past the door because then she could just run loose in the house and....thats just not good. Anyways, sometimes i just open the door a little bit and sit on the ground and pet her. Recently, i would stop petting her for a little bit and she would put her feet on my leg and try to jump into the room. The first time she did that, I gently pushed her back, but she tried again and i pushed her back once more. On the third try or so, while i was pushing her. she wrapped her front paws around my arm and started to...basically hump my arm. Then at the end of her little episode, she bit my arm (pretty hard too) and wouldn't let go for a little bit. I was VERY surprised because she has never bit me before. Oh yea, she also made sort of a sound, kind of like a breathy snort..? (not too sure to explain it). That was weird too because she has never made a noise before either. (she also stamped her foot once....she sounded like a little kid that stamps their foot and pouts when not given attention or is annoyed).

well, i was just wondering if anyone knows about this kind of behavior and if maybe it has anything to do with the fact that she isnyt spayed. Thank you  ??? :)

Well, I won't be a ton of help here, since I haven't had an unspayed female in many a moon, but, my guess would be that yeah, it has to do with her not being fixed.

Here's a good site on "Bunny Speak", maybe it'll say something in there.
