Pet Insurance Help!
« on: April 12, 2006, 04:13:49 PM »
Has anyone found any pet insurers that cover routine medical care for exotics like spays for rabbits? VPI doesn't seem to cover routine care like this, but I am on the phone now with them, so I will have to see if I can twist their arm.. oh crap.. the woman they referred me to wasn't there.. I left a message. We'll see.. so who has had spays covered??

I would think trying to get your vet to do payment plan might work out better than doing pet insurance.

Meghan -

If you're getting your bun spayed and willing to travel a bit, my vet does females for $105 and bucks for $75.  :)

Hey Amanda,

Thanks for the tip. I have decided to hold off on getting a bunny for a while, and when I do I will be getting a rescue who is already spayed. Thanks for responding :)

Check your local shelters and Humane Societies.  The ones here do Spay and Neuter for rabbits for $40-50, less than half of what most vets charge.
