Old Hermit Crab Cage for Traveling Cage?
« on: May 07, 2006, 07:16:38 PM »
I'm looking for a good traveling cage for my rat. I have a hermit crab cage which is round- about a foot wide and a little over a foot tall. It is wire, with no second stories. It used to carry hermit crabs so the stuff in it was sand. If I use it, what should I clean it with? Would it be safe to use?
Thanx
Em :wave2:

Yes, sounds big enough. Just clean it out really well. After, make sure to rinse well, so nothing toxic is left on.

I use a small hermit crab cage as a carrier for my mouse, it works great!  A 10% bleach solution works well for disinfecting cages, but like Cheezit said, make sure to rise thoroughly!
