barley

Can this be fed without cooking it first?  I would like to add it to their mix but don't know if they can eat it the way it comes in the bag without cooking it.   Thanks in advance.

I give all my small animals a 5 grain mixed which includes rolled barley. I never cook it.

As far as I know it doesn't have to be cooked. Debbie Ducommun uses it in her Molasses mix (which I feed my girls) and it contains uncooked barley. I think I even e-mailed her about that once and she said it's fine (I still cook them, though).

Okay, well I guess that makes sense if they can eat uncooked rice and pasta.  Thanks for the input!
