Hi I'am Avika :newbie:and I have a ? about the cage's bar spacing.I know it should be 1/2 but wouldn't baby rats get out?? ??? :help:

Well, how old are your babies? Could you post a picture of them? Because then i could tell you if they could get out or not. I had two 3 or 4 week old PEW rats  (which is almost 2 months now)  (in my avatar) and she couldnt get out of her bars, (you can see my bar spacing. Is yours like that?

I don't have rats just yet :)but the cage bars are the same as yours and the rats are about 3 to 5 weeks old. :-\

1/2" x 1" is plenty small enough to keep babies in.

The problems with babies and bar spacing is usually when it is 1" x 1" or bigger which is common on a lot of ferret type cages.
