Rat names (from TV & Movies)
« on: June 13, 2007, 03:33:54 PM »
I've had fun seeing some of the different names for the rats on the board and even more fun putting them with either a TV show or a movie.  I particularly enjoyed the Rocky Horror Picture Show crew.

If you adopted new rats today, however many is up to you, what would you name them and which show would it be from?

I loved the Pretender, so I'd have to go with Jarod and Sydney for a pair.  If I had space for four rats, the other two would be Ms. Parker and Brootes.

(all neutered/spayed, of course...)
Owned by 2 dogs (Zane & Merlin), 2 cats (Shadow & Brightspot), 3 cockatiels (PJ, Sweetie Pie, Teddy), 1 Beta fish (Mars) and 1 Blue Dumbo rat (Rosie)

Heh....  I'd probably go with seven (gender aside)....

Lust
Gluttony
Avarice (Greed)
Wrath
Sloth
Envy
Vanity (Pride)

From FMA  ;)

Course then I'd feel obliged to get the seven virtues as well.  :D

I really like the idea of naming them after artists...Monet, Renoir, Dega, Rosetti, or composers...Mozart, Vivaldi, Beethoven, Puccini.  Hmmm...I think I'd get four!

When I got back to having rats a couple years ago, the first pair I had were 2 males we estimated to be 2-1/2 years old minimum.  I named them Ralph and Ed after Ralph Kramden and his buddy Ed Norton from the Honeymooners.

Last year I adopted a mink Dumbo in October and named him Jerry.  When I adopted a blue hooded in November I named him Tom.

And more recently, I adopted 3 fawn hairless boys a few weeks ago.  They are Drew, Lewis and Oswald from The Drew Carey Show.

Between those I not only have Tom and Jerry, but also Jerry-Lewis.

Hahaha this reminds me....  I was asking Fleur-De-Lis (in her thread regarding getting her 4 new boys) if she had any ideas about naming my 2 new girlies.  Then someone brought up Ninja Turtles names.  The first thought I had this morning when I woke up was "I'VE GOT IT!!!! Bebop and Rocksteady!"  from Secret of the Ooze.

My hubby is a film buff and suggested that I name my 2 new boys after the Cohen brothers, of Fargo and Oh Brother Where Art Thou fame.  One is called Ethan which I liked, but the other is called Joel which I didn't fancy as a rat boy name. However I did like Fargo and my ruby eyed rex smeezer got called that.  Unable to continue with the Cohen theme but still film-based, his black eyed smeezer cousin is called Riddick

One of my wee boys' name is Radar, from M*A*S*H. lol
And one of my big squish's names is.. well, Squishington from a show called Mr. Bumpy. lol
My Francesca's not named after a show, but she's named after the song Francesca by Melee.
And they're not named after the characters from the shows, but our new boy Bender shares his name with the robot from Futurama, and Fat B*st*rd shares her name with the guy from Austin Powers.
Oh, and Leonidas, our smeeze boy is named after Leonidas from 300, obviously.  :P

And my friend's new beebees are named after Lilo & Stitch.
