Setting Up First Cage and Litter Training
« on: September 30, 2007, 11:03:48 AM »
I am in the process of setting up for first cage and I would like to potty or litter train my ratties (to the best of thier abilities ;)).  Should I start with Yesterday's News all over the cage for a week or two to find out their favorite potty spot and then put in a litter box with YN and use something else to cover the rest?  Or should I go with the litter box set up right away?

I automatically switch straight to fleece for bedding and YN in litter boxes.  The kids seem to pick it up pretty quickly in my experience.  Just put all the little stray raisins in the litter box 'til they get the idea.  And the baby you'll be getting has been raised only on fleece and this week they were given a litter box with YN, so that oughtta get you started
