Water Bottle Cleaning Tip - Beads!
« on: March 16, 2008, 07:20:28 PM »
I don't know about you but I always have a problem getting my water bottles totally clean. Even with a bottle brush this gunky film starts to form on the curved part near the mouth of the bottle. At the moment we don't even have a bottle brush, so it was a major pain getting them clean. Hubby had a great idea . . . pour in something abrasive. He couldn't think of what to use but I could . . . beads!

I do beading/jewelry making as a hobby and like most beaders have a bag of mixed cheap glass beads lying around. I just poured in a tablespoon or so worth of beads, added soap and water and shook for a while. Sure enough it got all the gunk out and left the bottle sparkling clean. I just poured them from one bottle to the next until I'd done them all, then rinsed and dried the beads and put them right back in the bag.

I thought others might be able to use this tip too. Happy shaking!
