scared?
« on: March 12, 2008, 12:00:01 PM »
hi, im new to rabbits and dont know how to get my new litte girl more interested in playtime.  I have a large area set up for her in y room where she can go in and out of her cage when she wants but she refuses to go out of her cage.. I've had her for 3 days now and she is ine with me touching and holding her but will not come out for anything.  I have taken her out and put her on the floor but she just walks around for a bit then right back in the cage... what should i do?

I would say 3 day isn't enough time.  Just leave her cage door open, and do your thing, and let her explore at her own pace.  She needs to feel secure in where she's at, and right now, the cage is it, but she will get curious, if left to her own devices.  :)

No, I'd only open it when you're there, but don't sit by the cage and wait for her to come out.  Do what you would normally do, or sit on your bed and read a book, and just leave her alone to decide for herself when she wants to come out.

A little head massage works wonders sometimes.

sometimes if you leave little treats around the room like a treasure hunt she will love that but dont put them in places that are hard for her to find.
