How often do you want to clean them?

Well, you can make two, and then while you are wasing them, let the rats play in their playpen or whatever.  Or you can have three so you will have one while the other two are being cleaned.

I try and always have 3-4 sets available [read : clean] so that I can clean the cage every 2-3 days without having to do laundry with rats out. You can get by with 3 sets, but you have to stay on top of it if they start to get chewed or anything. Right now I've got 6 sets, 3 to go in the wash and 3 that are clean.
