The boys got upgraded!

So super stoked! Got a great deal on a new cage today for our rats. Now I can move the baby Dumbo's to the cage Whiskers and Zag are in and hopefully when all this URI crap with Whiskers and Zag clears up they can all enjoy this cage together!

Wow! What a tall cage! They're going to have a blast in there.

Awesome!!  Very nice and big and fun looking.

One suggestion though, those feeder doors look soooo easy to open.  I'd suggest using something to lock them doors, even those bread twisty ties or pipe cleaners if that is all you have.  Rats have opened much more difficult doors!

I had a friend who used binder clips on her doors, you could try that too.

Oh man, I just got rid of this cage! I had it for around 3 years, it's not really that great of quality....the best thing you can do it zip ties the sides to make it more stable. What I hated the most is how hard it was to clean!!

I hope you like it better than I did!  :(

Thanks for the suggestions on the doors. Right now I am using safety pins which is working well. Also thanks for the tip on using zip strips on the sides. Right now there are only two rats in there so it stays pretty clean with all that space. I can see what you mean though. Top access would be nice. I'm just pleased they have so much space! With there two to three hours of free time a day they seem very content!
