Those colored wooden beads look very similar to the ones I almost bought at a craft store to use on toys (they are shiny rather than dull like the dyed blocks).  If they are store bought you should definitely call the company to see if they are safe for animals.  The ones I called about were not safe for pets to chew on. Just a heads up, cute stuff otherwise ;)

I haven't had a problem with them at all with the boys. Before I made these, they had gotten into a bunch of my hemp jewelry (destroyed them) with the same type of beads (the shiny) and I freaked out cause I thought it was going to harm them. Everyone was fine, and it said the paint was non-toxic which usually means kid safe ?  but I will double check everything again. Thanks~!!! I was actually planning on just painting/dying my own natural wooden beads so that might end up being the better option for the toys.
