Best parakeet food...
« on: June 16, 2010, 12:47:57 AM »
A friend of mine is giving me her parakeet and I'm just wondering, with all the junk food out there, which is the best parakeet food? I was looking at this...
http://www.feedmypet.com/bepafo.html , but I wanted to be sure before spending that much money on something that might have something bad in it. Thanks for any input:)

I don't have any personal experience with that food but the problem with mixes like that is that birds will pick out their favorites and leave the rest.
What kind of parakeet is this? If it's a budgie I'm concerned that some of the pieces are too big for them to eat.  Unfortunately, you can't zoom in very close to the bag.

I think a better diet would consist of a pellet, some seed and some birdie mash (homemade with grains/legumes, veggies and a little fruit.)
