A Plea for Help - female cat in St. Louis, MO
« on: August 02, 2010, 06:00:00 PM »
First, a quick backstory:  my name is Stephanie and I am 22 years old.  I live with my boyfriend in Affton, Missouri which is very close to the South County mall.  Every few months or so, I go home to visit my parents who live in Cedar Hill, Missouri.

I've been here for two weeks now, and I love it.  When I moved in with my boyfriend, I was heartbroken because I wasn't allowed to have any pets.  Apartment rules.  That means I had to leave my three birds and two cats here with my parents.  At first, that wasn't a problem at all because my entire family loves the pets.  However, at this point in time, I guess my parents are at their wit's end.

Long story short, my mom wants to get rid of our pets.  I cannot convince her otherwise, because to put it bluntly, she's a real ... well, something not nice.  She wants to take them to the humane society.  She absolutely refuses to believe me when I say that a LARGE percentage of the animals that go into those places get PTS... especially being adult pets.  I am running out of time because she honestly sprang this on me just a few days ago.  I've been in emotional distress since.  I've done a good job at finding places for them thus far.  My aunt loves birds, so that is taken care of.  My grandma used to live here and loved our male cat, so that cat will be going with her.

The beautiful baby that I have left is my first cat.  Her name is Billy.  She is spayed and de-clawed (NOT my decision, mind you.)  Here are some pictures of her below:

If anyone out there has an idea of what I can do - or if someone is willing to adopt her - please send me a PM.  I'd prefer not to discuss adopting or placing her here, as I feel like I can get to know a person better through the private message system.

If travel is an issue, don't be discouraged.  I would travel many miles to get Billy to someone who can love her.

I hate this situation.  Thank you for reading this.

Yay happy days!  I convinced my mom to keep her.  Happy ending, etc etc.  Could I please get a mod to delete this post?  Please and thank you.
