Guinea pig home?
« on: June 04, 2011, 10:18:58 PM »
What would be an ideal cage set up for housing two guinea pigs?

And you're getting the gerbils as well? Ambitious.
I love my pigs, they are sweet and noisy.

I just found out the gerbs are illegal where I live :( so I was thinking about getting some piggys, I've owned 2 of them previously but I never housed more then one in the same cage is why.

I didn't know that gerbils were illegal...anywhere. Weird.
Don't feel bad, when I was young I also didn't know any better. I had 3 piggers, in 3 separate cages.

How much they chatted with each other and enjoyed playing together while they were out really probably should have clued me in on their desire to live together.
/facepalm

Haha! Yeah, I used to be so jealous because my guinea pig loved my moms voice and every time she came into my room the guinea pig would go CRAZY like running and jumping everywhere! And I wanted them to be happy to see me like that :( lol
I was calling around for rescues and adoptions in the San Fernando valley and they all said no and so I called a local pet store and they told me I wont find them because they are illegal in California :(

When we had Cavys we had them in C&C cages.
two Ratties, Lizzy and Baby

(We also have eight Gerbils and a dog and Fish. The Gerbils are owned by my Mom and Sisters)

Yes, c&c is the best cage. I have 2 2x5 each housing 2 piggies. Also check out guinealynx.info

Gerbils are very illegal in Cali. As are Chinese dwarf hamsters. Ferrets. Sugargliders. Degus. I think they would make everything illegal if they could.
