Can I Wipe Their Butts?
« on: August 23, 2011, 01:23:06 AM »
So my 5 month old kittens aren't always excellent at cleaning themselves up after using the litter box. Twice now I've found poop on my sheets  when they sit down and can see, um, residues on their butts. Is there a way I can safely clean them up a bit? Would something like unscented baby wipes be okay to use? Better yet, is there a way to encourage them to clean up a little better back there? I'm hoping they get better with age.

Thanks in advance.

You can use baby wipes. If they have mucky buts they probably need to be wormed. And yes those worms can be in your bed.

Are they long hair or short hair cats? Sometimes its easier to keep the fur short around their butts when their kittens especially if they are long hair, atleast until they are better at cleaning themsleves

They are short-haired and seem to be getting better about it. I haven't had to wipe their butts as often.

Thats good that their doing better about it. Sometimes it takes some kittens longer than others to figure things out like grooming.
