How to make a fun-filled bunny playground!
« on: September 04, 2011, 12:57:02 PM »
Hey rabbit owners,

My rabbit, Rosie, used to be able to free range the entire house when out of her cage. However, we just got a new puppy and he really wants to rip her to shreds :( So she is now confined to free ranging our spare bedroom where her cage is.

The room has a fairly large closet that we leave open and she likes to hang out in. I feel so bad that she has to stay in the one room that I'd like to make the closet into a fun-filled bunny wonderland for her, but I have no idea what to put in there!!

I was thinking a big cardboard box hiding area. And that's the only idea I have so far.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!!

A box house. My rabbits love box houses. One of them likes to have a tower. I stack 3-4 large boxes and she likes to sleep in the top. I also add a thick layer of cardboard for them to dig in. I will add crumpled up newspaper. They like to dig in it and shred it. They like hanging toilet paper/paper towel tubes. I make other toys to hang in it. I put pieces of cardboard and toilet paper tubes in one box. Just lots of stuff for them to play with. Here is one of their box houses.
I have made bigger ones. The best one I made was based off this
The bunnies LOVED it. I dont have a picture of it.

Some other favorites are a big storage container filled with hay. Its a great digging box. They like mazes. I got a crinkle tunnel and cubes from walmart in the cat section that they love. I got a cardboard tunnel from home depot that they love.

Here are some other toy ideas
