Ikea Hamster Home
« on: December 29, 2011, 01:15:01 PM »
I converted an Ikea shelf called the detolf: Ikea's Detolf; into a cage for my two roborovski dwarf hamsters, Rory and Bones. It has 1088 square inches of floorspace, was cheap for it's size and was easy as pie to convert. It does have a lid, it was just removed for the pictures.

This is what it looked like the first time I set it up:

And this is what it currently looks like:

Wow it looks awesome! Your hamsters are really lucky!

But I bet it's not very easy to clean. :D

Thanks guys! :)

Winterlest: Actually it's the easiest cage to clean that I have ever had. Between smaller tanks, wire cages, bin cages, habitrails and even the Ferret Nation for the rats, this is the easiest cage. It doesn't need full cleanings every week, I just do partial cleanings and even when it does need a full, deep clean it's just a matter of scooping it out, wiping the glass down and filling it back up.
