R695 (mouse palace)
« on: December 30, 2011, 11:21:03 AM »
I was super excited to drag the 695 out of storage and set it up again!  I'm only using the bottom half for now but will probably open it up later on.  The new resident:  a single male mouse.  I need to gather some more nicknacks to put in there because it's a but empty right now, but it works out because it's easier to catch him while he's still skittish.

on a side note, I think that keeping mice in the 695 has made me a bit spoiled cage-wise.  I was just thinking last night that I couldn't imagine ever housing more than 5 mice or 2 rats in there at once lol
It's a full house!! 3 horses: Pixie, Tucker, and Bailey; 4 cats: Adam, Cassie, LuAnne, and Chester; 4 dogs: Friskie, Beau, Jemma, and Ruby; 3 rats: Pickle, Pepper, and Pretzel; 2 mice: Kirby and Lionel; 1 duck: Quackers; 1 hamster: Pancake

thanks!  I set up my 20g today as a playpen for him so he can keep me company by the computer in the evenings.

 :yelcutelaugh: Playpen.

You really are cage-spoiled! Lucky little mouse. Is he handleable?

^he is skittish right now, but not exactly scared of me.  He is willing to come up to the cage and check me out but doesn't like being picked up yet.

Aw man, why did I have to see these pictures? I have an R695 for my rats and now I want to buy an R695 for the boy mouse I'll be getting. Is this from the hamster/gerbil section on the website?

Nope, this is the same R695 that you have for your rats.

I did notice on the Martin site that the R695 for rats and hamsters/gerbils were the same dimensions. That would make sense. Whoops. xD I have the older R695 model with the smaller doors. Referencing that, I'm not sure if I'm comfortable with the bar spacing for my new mousey unless I bought another R695 and put a wire mesh around the entire thing. I still have time to think this over though, because I'm still waiting for the litter to be born and I'll be taking my pick when they're old enough.
