New-Ferret Nation, modify or sell?
« on: April 22, 2012, 03:39:21 PM »
We have a FN single that we used for a previous pet.  We got two female rats thinking we could use the FN.  :-[  Of course, they can slip right through the bars.  So I have seen the modifying of the FN with the wire mesh.  Is it worth it to do this or sell the FN and purchase a CN?  I need to make a quick decision!

Several years ago we had a rat and he had a Rat Manor (I believe that is what it was called) and I hated that thing.  I could never get the ramps in and I was always fighting it on cleaning day.  I know I don't want that again.

Is the FN in good condition? Do you think you could fetch a good price for it?
My preference would be to sell it and get a CN. Hardware cloth can be a pain to work with, and if you can get a good price for your FN then it might not cost a lot extra (once you had to add in the cost of the cloth) to just save yourself the hassle and buy a CN.
