A memorial post for Zippy...
« on: May 24, 2012, 08:44:40 PM »
My girl of 15+ years passed to the bridge today.

I seem to be pretty intuitive but still didn't know so soon.

But the JOYS of her life:  that insane tortie (even until last night having "mad cat" moments.)

A GORGEOUS dark and kind of chunky tortie who was as vocal as anything in the world!

As a youngster she was almost intolerable...but somehow I sort of love that!  (Goodness those claws were SO sharp!)

She did have her last meal of something she really liked (tuna rich food).

She really hung on.  We did a very heavy sedation and then...a number of heavy injections after that.

She only passed when I had the doc leave the room and did what she liked most...breathing warm air into her back.  Stubborn little fart-ball!

Beautiful as always until this day.  They even remarked on her coat at the vet's.  (In one way or the other she had some kind of dementia/neurological thing going on).

Love her always,

- Raaz.

Sounds like she had to have her way, even in death.  Typical tortie.

I am so sorry for your loss, and I'm glad she got to have a meal she loved as her last.  *huge hugs*

Yup.  Little  stinker.

But she's  seldom been afraid of the vets.  (Still not a fan of car rides!)

No more lovely...and surly!

:'( Oh my goodness this made me cry.  That is so sweet and the part where it was just you and her alone during her last few seconds.  RIP Zippy I am so very sorry for your loss.   :'(

I'm so sorry to hear about Zippy.  She's probably enjoying messing with her brother right about now.

Thank you all.

To be you 100% honest, I was raised pretty darned agnostic.  Hey, maybe it's still that way.  (No flames, please),but the soul sometimes says better.

Thank you.

My own quote!

YES, I was raised agnostic.  I am a faith oriented person (or a bit more) who still has that agnostic mind.

I did tell her to go to Eli...(her brother)...at the Bridge.

The thing that struck me so funny later was that I realized she'd probably kick the beans out of him for a few days, just like whenever he used to have to come home from the vet!  I thought that was almost the sweetest part about it.   ::)

Thanks for your understanding.
