Life Expectancy signs at Petco

I find it interesting that the signs above the rats at petco say they can live up to 5 years.  Most people on here report their rats living 2-3 years.  Has anyone ever had a rat live 5 years? Seems a little misleading to put that on the sign when it's not that common.

Seems the average is around two, which is really too short.  :(  As for the Petco signs, they probably are only saying that to sell more rats.
