I have a ferret that is about 4 (I actually found her wandering loose) and she has always been a picky eater. I recently made my own version of "Duck Soup" - I based it off this video: http://www.ehow.com/video_2349888_treating-ferret-illness-duck-soup.html

Basically I just soak the kibble overnight then puree it in a blender, I didn't even bother with the other ingredients. It makes it easier to eat and my ferret has put on a good amount of weight on it.

It's still good to give them kibble as it is good for their teeth to chew it, but any way to add calories is good.

Be careful not to switch brands or add too many things as I found out the hard way that ferrets have very sensitive stomachs and get stress ulcers easily, even from just a brand change. So keep up on your inventory!
