My biggest tip is read, read, read. Read EVERYTHING. Decide what sort of raw you want to do. I do partial raw, supplemented with kibble because my girl has to have kibble in her dish overnight.

Start simple. Don't overwhelmed yourself with tons of types of meat. I started with chicken at first. It's easy to get, and good with sensitive stomachs. And moved on from there.

Read about other people's experiences. Learn from their mistakes, and how their dogs reacted.

Don't be afraid to backtrack. If your dog has diarrhea on a certain food item, take it away, and reintroduce it much slower. Still having issues, it might just be something that your dog doesn't tolerate.

My Brussels Griffon eats premade raw. That's an economical choice for us since he's only 7 lbs

As was said, do lots of reading, and go slowly. It is ok to backtrack, and it is ok to give up if it isn't working out. The important thing is to make sure your animal's nutritional and caloric needs are being met.

My dogs and cats are all on raw. My cats have been on raw for about 5 or 6 years. My older dog has been on raw for nearly 4 years (started her on raw a few months after we got her), and my younger dog has been on raw for about a year and a half (started her on raw after she got out of the vet hospital due to parvo). I am following the "prey model" version of the raw diet, and they've been doing great! Vet has had nothing but good to say about their health and body condition. My older dog recently went in for an injury in her back, and the vet gave her a perfect 5 for body condition, commented how she's all muscle and skin, very athletic looking.
