Rat Snacks 'N Stuff
« on: September 14, 2012, 04:13:49 AM »
I've finally made a dream come true and have opened a small business
providing healthy treats and food for rats. (And other small animals!) This dream
is named Rat Snacks 'N Stuff and is built around my personal philosophy
of feeding my rats the best foods possible.

I believe in natural, holistic diets for animals using human-grade foods, rather than
the "leftovers" that aren't good enough for us and become destined for
commercial animal foods. I don't feed my animals things that I would not eat myself!

Unfortunately, there are no commercial foods out there for rats or other small animals that contain only the freshest
human-grade grains and seeds. You will, however, find stale bags of dried corn, seeds, and indigestible pellets as well as
artificial colors, flavors, preservatives, and "nutrients". These commercial mixes are neither healthy nor complete!

A nutritious and complete diet using healthy, human-grade foods is possible!
I've taken the work out of the dry mix for you and offer instructions for
completing the diet with fresh foods that require only a freezer, access
to an every-day grocer, and a minimal amount of preparation time.

It's time to feel good about the foods that we are giving our rats!

This premium quality, human-grade organic grain mix is formulated to pair with fresh
foods to make a rat diet that offers complete nutrition. Though this diet is intended
as an alternative to "block" foods, it may be used as a supplement to those diets.

Whole grains and healthy seeds with all-natural nutrition offer another option
than the highly-processed blocks that are fortified with synthetic nutrients.
Unlike blocks, this mix also provides the mental stimulation that our rats
need to maintain psychological and emotional health as instinctual foragers.

Hearty whole grains packed with vital nutrients along with seeds rich
in essential fatty acids and dried fruit full of anti-oxidants make up
this delicious dry mix. Dried fruits and vegetables, purchased separately,
make a great addition to the mix and are highly recommended.

Ingredients include millet, barley, wheat, oats, buckwheat, spelt,
rye, triticale, rice, quinoa, maize, couscous, whole wheat and
vegetable pastas, flax seed, sesame seed, pumpkin seed, sunflower
seed, cashew nuts, split peas, and dried cranberries.

This mix is perfect for growing youngsters and maintaining adults,
but changes are made to the grain ratios to accommodate seniors
and rats with special needs when applicable. I am always delighted
to work with customers to provide the perfect diet for their unique
pets. Service does not end after purchase as I am always available
to provide dietary advice and guidance for anyone in need.

Full instructions for completing this diet with fresh foods that require
only a freezer, access to an every-day grocer, and a minimal amount
of preparation time are included with every order.

$7.00 / 1 pound

*One pound of dry mix will last an average adult rat up to two months
depending on how closely the provided diet is followed. When following the
included diet plan, the extra expense of block foods is no longer required.
Age, gender, and health status can all affect the amount of food eaten.

Nearly every rat loves Yogies™! Did you know that the very first ingredient in
commercial Yogies™ is sugar? How about the artificial flavors and colors?

I have a healthier and more affordable alternative to those beloved treats. Absolutely
no added sugar, artificial flavor, or color is added to these vanilla-flavored yogurt drops.
All of the delicate sweetness comes naturally from the yogurt.

Stop feeding your rats sugar drops and start feeding them yogurt drops!

$3.00 / 4 oz. or $5.00 / 8 oz.!

*Yogies™ are owned and manufactured by 8 in 1 ®.

Neat!  I've never fed yogies because of the sugar!

Likewise! I'm thrilled that I found an alternative so that the boys can enjoy a yummy "junk food" treat once in a while without all of that sugar!

(They're actually pretty delicious.  )

I'm interested in the dried veggies! My mouth is drooling over them I'm sure my pigs and my friend's rats will go gaga for them. Now to figure out which one and how much of them.

How much would it cost to ship 8oz of "yogies"? I really miss giving them to my boys but I stopped because of the amount of sugar in those things!
