I am going to be bring in a new addition soon but he has fleas. We have 5 dogs, a cat, 2 ferrets, and 2 rats in the house that DON'T have fleas. How can I prevent an outbreak? I already plan to bath him and use revolution but is there anything else that I can do to lower the risk? We had an huge outbreak of fleas 2 summers ago which resulted in a $300 vet bill for pills and sprays (that was after we bombed the house).

there has to be 48 hours between a bath and applying revolution, in either direction.   If you have someone else willing to keep him for you until the revolution takes care of all the fleas that is the best way, if not then apply flea preventative to all the animals and vacuum daily and take the vacuumed content out tot he trash daily.   Put pieces of a cut up flea collar in your vacuum container.
