Corner Hut Tutorial Now Online
« on: February 11, 2014, 06:43:11 PM »
At one time, someone had asked for a tutorial for the corner hut (corner cube).

I can't find that post - it might have been embedded in a different conversation. Anyway, I finally have that one put together and online as part of the PDF. You can find it here if anyone is still looking for it: http://www.ratropolis.com/Rat%20Tutorials/RatTutorials.htm

This is Amazing!! I've been pouring over pictures trying to put together in my head how to make some of the items for my own use but seeing as I've never sewn before I was expecting a major problem. As soon as I get my sewing machine I'm going to make each of these one at a time and I'm super stoked! :shocked2:

It was brought to my attention that some of the links with the pictures on the front pages of the document ended up getting broken and pointed to the wrong things. I went back and checked the links and fixed any that I found that were broken, so it should be fixed now.

Can't wait to try this, thanks so much. I made a cube without holes and entry points at all four vertical points wanna to try this with the corner hut.

Vonda - your tutorials are awesome!  I got my sewing machine Friday and have already made a punch of hammocks.  I was wondering where you get your 2-piece eyelets?  I found some 1 piece eyelets at Joann's but they're not long enough to go through multiple pieces of fabric like on the Double Decker.  Thanks again!

I got my eyelets at Walmart. Also, Vonda, I shared your tutorials on my Swedish rat forum, everyone loves it! We don't really have that kind of variety in hammocks here so it was amazing for them!

So glad it has been helpful!

Regarding the eyelets, when using the pliers, I just use the 1/4" Dritz eyelets from JoAnn's (http://www.joann.com/dritz-dritz-eyelet-refills-1-4in-15-pkg-/prd34400.html#q=1%2F4%22+eyelets&start=1). They have worked for me on even the thicker projects.

Now I have a grommet press, so I also use the size 0 (1/4") grommets from grommetworld.com - but you cannot use these without a press.
